Do you feel it is impossible to succeed in reaching your goals?
Why not try to find success in the midst of your failures.
I think it is time that you learn to color yourself with success.
Busy schedules can kill a to do list.
I achieved very little of the grand things I wanted to do over the summer, but I made it! I survived a crazy busy summer.
- Kid’s camp
- Vacation Bible School
- Space museum (where I went to the moon)
- Lego Discovery Center (where I mastered the laser ninja course)
- A Water park trip with my kids
- A very hot ball game at Turner Field
- And an elementary drama camp that ended with a magnificent production of Disney’s Cinderella Jr.
I could choose to complain of how busy I have been and how little I have gotten done around my house.
I could blame the pounds I have gained on travel, stress, or countless other things. I could beat myself up on how I have abandoned my blog, let a few things slide and given my children way too much fast food but instead I am going to choose to be Colored with Success!
Colored with Success
What do I mean by that? I am colored with success when I choose to adorn myself with my accomplishments instead of my failures. God doesn’t condemn us or drape us with our shortcomings. Instead He stirs us to reach for our dreams and adorns our spirit man with beauty. When we feel beautiful on the inside, it starts showing on the outside.
You shall also be (so beautiful and prosperous as to be thought of as) a crown of glory and honor in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem (exceedingly beautiful) in the hand of your God. Isaiah 62:3 (AMP)
If you are like me you:
- Snack when you are stressed
- Make poor diet choices when you are busy
- Indulge in something sweet when you need consoling
Think About Your Success and Not Your Failure
So instead of drowning my sorrows in a pan of brownies, as wonderful as that sounds, I am choosing to think on the things of Philippians 4:8. What have I done that is pure, noble, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy? If you try hard enough I know that you can find something praiseworthy out of every situation in your life. Even when you can’t, know that if you love God, he will turn your sorrows to joy and your bad circumstances into good ones.
I Know You Can Do It!
So I challenge you today to
- Be Nice to Yourself!
- Be Colored with Success!
- Treat yourself with a healthy snack
- Set your mind to the course you need to take.
Share Your Success with Others
Have you gotten sidetracked during the hot days of summer? Don’t sweat it!
Tell me how God is redirecting your steps! I’m sure it will be an encouragement to me and to all others who read it.
Then brag on yourself a little! I know it is hard but we need to see ourselves the way God does so that we can accomplish His call in our lives.
Go ahead! Tell me how great you are, I dare you!
